Tax relief works differently in this sector. Maintained schools and academy trusts are not corporation-tax payers, so the Annual Investment Allowance (100% first-year relief on up to £1m) is generally relevant only to independent schools or to a trust’s taxable trading subsidiary. Treat it as something for your finance director to confirm, not an assumption to bake into the payback.
